We were gathered in the heart of America, beautiful Des Moines Iowa, for the 2009 Cadet Counselors' Convention. It was clear right from the start that this convention would be all about getting to the heart of our mission as counselors — helping boys to grow more Christlike.

The counselors were inspired, trained, challenged, listened to, prayed for, and treated royally. And the families of counselors were not left out. Many workshops were offered with the wives of counselors in mind, and the kids had a great line-up of activities just for them.

 

The host committee from Hawkeye Council did a fabulous job — providing an excellent program and taking care of all the details to make our stay in Des Moines a memorable one. A big THANKS to the host committee and their support staff.
