What is the Cadet Counselors' Convention?
It is a gathering of Cadet counselors from all over North America. The primary function of this event is education — equipping men so that they can be more effective servants of the Lord in their clubs and councils. Education comes first, but the convention committee does not overlook the fact that this gathering provides the perfect setting for fellowship and inspiration. Motivational speakers and entertainment encourage the counselors to honor the Lord with their best efforts in the upcoming Cadet season. It is held in various locations, depending on which of the more than forty Cadet councils hosts the event. The convention is held in July or August and is promoted here and in Cadet publications. The counselor's family is encouraged to attend. In fact, the host council prepares special programs and activities for the children and special workshops and events for the spouses. The annual convention has been a part of the cadeting experience since 1960. Sometimes schedule, time, or distance make it difficult for you to attend the international convention. Maybe a regional conference will fit your schedule. Take a look at the regional conference calendar to see if there is an upcoming conference in your area.
