Calvary CRC Cadet Club Takes Lesson on
Serving to Heart

At the beginning of the 2006/2007 Cadet season, the first lesson from the September/October (’06) Quest was on serving. Our club was asked by a group in our church called MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) if we had an interest in making scarecrow skeletons for a project. They needed about 30 of them built so they could have mothers put clothes and straw on them during their project day.
Our Builder and Guide cadres decided that this would be a great way of doing a service project from the Let’s Act on It part of the lesson (B-1). The Cadets had a great time cutting out all the pieces, sanding, and screwing them all together.
The MOPS group and the mothers who attended this meeting were very grateful and many were touched by the work that these boys did for them. What a great way for the boys to use the talents the Lord has given to each one of them.
