Neland Avenue Christian Reformed Church (Grand Rapids Council) is in the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It’s been there for more than 90 years. About 35 miles from a big lake, but not an ocean, it’s not the sort of place you would expect to see Cadets who earn the Surfing merit badge, but that’s what they did!
A group of boys from the Neland Cadet club went out with a Lake Michigan surfer, and he taught them how to surf. What a great way to spend a day!
