Promoting Cadets to other Churches
Many times, your activities as a Cadet club will cause other churches to seek you out. But it is also important to personally reach out to the other churches in your community. The Cadet organization has a few tools to assist you in helping your neighboring churches discover the exciting ministry of Cadeting. The "How your church can reach boys . . ." brochure (item no. 3088) provides an excellent overview of the organization as a general introduction. If a church's leaders would like to sit down with you in a meeting to discuss Cadeting, then the video " A Man and a Boy" or the first program in the Counselor Education Video Series — "This is Cadeting" provides an excellent overview of Cadeting. If the church would like further information, it would be a good idea to bring them an "info packet" -- an envelope filled with sample materials including the booklet Starting and Organizing a Cadet Club (contact the Cadet office to get an info packet). The Starting & Organizing a Cadet Club booklet spells out in detail what it takes to get things going. You can also direct them to this Cadet Web-site which they can browse at their leisure. If the group making inquiries about Cadets has some questions you are not sure about, have them contact the staff at the Corps office through this web-site. The staff will certainly assist them in any way they can.
