This is Cadeting

• There is a new church just outside town. When you drive by on Sunday morning you notice many families entering the church and you wonder what programs, if any, they have for the boys of their congregation.
• A business associate asks you why you are taking some of your hard earned vacation days to sleep on the cold hard ground with a bunch of rowdy kids.
• Your son as a friend from the neighborhood over to play and he asks why his church doesn't have Cadets so he can build and race in a model car derby.

These are times when you have opportunity to share about the mission and ministry of the Calvinist Cadet Corps. But where do you begin? There are so many activities, service projects, cuuriculum concepts, and personal experiences that you could talk about it. Well, maybe he CCC organization can help you get a start. Included with the Counselor Education Video Series (CEVS) is a brief overview of the Cadeting ministry called "This is Cadeting." It is a 10 minute DVD video presentation that provides an excellent foundation of information about the CCC. So when you call the leadership of that new church and ask for a few minutes to explain how Cadeting can enhance their ministry, or when you feel the Lord has opened a door for you to share what being a "faithful servant" means to your friend at work, or when you see an opportunity to partner with your neighbor's church you don't have to feel uncertain about how to share the potential of Cadeting, you'll have a tool to introduce the basics of Cadeting. Yes, you'll still want to personalize your presentation by sharing some of your own experiences but the groundwork will already be there. It is an excellent tool, but it is still up to you to take advantage of the opportunities to use it. Spread the word! Cadeting is an excellent way to minister to your church family and your community.
