2021-2022 Theme: God’s In Control
Our theme for the 2021-2022 Cadet season is “God’s In Control.” This theme is based on Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Throughout this year the boys will be reminded that God is always with them, including during times of stress and anxiety. This reassurance will help the boys be aware that they don’t need to be afraid or discouraged, and can instead be strong and courageous as they live for Jesus.
Cadet Quest Theme
The God’s In Control theme will also be emphasized throughout the year in the Cadet Quest magazine, particularly in the B Lessons of the Bible studies, as well as the counselor editions of these lessons. These lessons are also available separately from the magazine, so you can use the theme lessons without subscribing to Cadet Quest.
Supporting Materials
Additional supporting materials include themed bookmarks and posters. The bookmarks make inexpensive but useful gifts that keep the theme in front of cadets. The posters boldly proclaim the theme while making a great addition to your Cadet bulletin board and/or meeting area. (Your club will receive a smaller version of the poster in your fall start-up packet.)
Cadet Week/Cadet Sunday
We’ve made lots of theme-related material – logo image files, projection screens, sermon notes, etc. – available for you to use during Cadet Week and Cadet Sunday. Look for more of these materials to show up online this summer.
Counselor Theme Resources
We’re putting together a whole package of theme-related resources for counselors, and we’re putting them all online. We’ll be adding to these materials over the course of the summer, so stay tuned!
God’s In Control
However you utilize the upcoming theme, we hope it will encourage you and your cadets. We challenge you to be an example to your cadre and club by acknowledging God’s control over all things, at all times. Show your cadets that they can boldly become more Christlike in all areas of life. We pray that this theme will be used to reach boys in your church and community more effectively.
