The guideposts of the Cadet experience

The Cadet landmarks – motto, verse, code, and pledge – help boys discover how the Lord is at work in their lives. The landmarks are recited during opening exercises of club meetings. Cadets must also understand the meaning of our Cadet emblem and hymn.

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Landmarks

Code

A Cadet must be reverent, obedient, compassionate, consecrated, trustworthy, pure, grateful, loyal, industrious, and cheerful.

Landmarks

Pledge

Thankful to God for his gifts to me, I pledge myself to be ready to serve God, my parents, my country, my church, my neighbor, and my Corps.

Counselors’ Landmark

An additional landmark recited at the opening of all Cadet club meetings – only Cadet counselors should respond.
Mission Statement: Helping boys to grow more Christlike in all areas of life.

Landmarks

Emblem

The three Cs in the center of the shield have special meaning. Not only do they represent the Calvinist Cadet Corps name, but they also form a cross. This reminds us of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins.

Hymn

Living for Jesus

Living for Jesus a life that is true,
Striving to please Him in all that I do;
Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.

O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee,
For Thou, in Thy atonement, Didst give Thyself for me;
I own no other Master, My heart shall be Thy throne;
My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ for Thee alone.
