2019 Congress Recap
The Calvinist Cadet Corps held its annual Congress in Grand Rapids, Michigan, January 10-12, 2019.
This annual meeting brings together nearly 100 representatives from councils across North America to discuss issues and make decisions regarding the business and direction of the Corps for the next year.
Committees and Regional Training Coordinators met to focus on specific topics and bring their recommendations to the full Congress for approval, and elections for Executive Committee members also took place.
Between meetings, congressmen gathered for food and fellowship, including meals, worship services, and presentations from Cadets Executive Director Steve Bootsma and Youth Unlimited Executive Director Rick Zomer.
Congress 2019 covered a wide range of topics and issues, and congressmen were able to encourage each other and the Corps in our mission to help boys become more Christlike in all areas of life. It is our prayer that we will be a (more effective) blessing in the coming Cadet season.
Steve Bootsma, Cadet Executive Director, addresses the 2019 Cadet Congress — focusing on the Elijah/Elisha relationship and how it is an example of how we can raise up the next generation of Cadet Counselors.
Rick Zomer, Youth Unlimited Director, addresses 2019 Congress on the subject of how to connect with the 20- and 30-somethings and encourage them to consider the Cadet ministry for a place to use their gifts.
