Summer Project – Pool Noodle Rocket
Follow these instructions (and the video) to make pool noodle rockets!
You’ll Need
- Pool noodle
- Serrated knife
- Scissors
- Rubber bands
- Craft foam sheet
- Duct tape
- Long nail
Instructions (see video for details/example)
Step #1
Cut pool noodle into 12-inch (30.5 cm) length
Step #2
Find a rubber band that’s wider than the nail.
Use the nail to punch the rubber band through the pool noodle.
Step #3
Wrap both ends of the rubber band around the pool noodle.
Step #4
Take another large rubber band and make a hitch around the rubber band that is inside the noodle.
Step #5
Attach another large rubber band to the previous one to extend it and make your launches more powerful.
Step #6
Wrap duct tape around the rubber bands.
Step #7
Cut out 3 fins from the craft foam sheet.
Step #8
Wrap fins in duct tape.
Step #9
Tape fins to pool noodle.
