Where to Find Craft Project Ideas

A big part of Cadets includes craft projects. Boys enjoy building things they can use or play with, and this, in turn, can develop their interests and skills in different areas. But where do you turn when you need a project for your cadets? Here are just a few places to look:

Cadet Project Manuals

For those counselors who prefer to have a book in their hands for reference, we have a couple of choices. Our Cadet Project Manual has lots of different kinds of projects appropriate for cadets, (U.S. Store | Canada Store). If your cadets are earning their Woodworking badge, we recommend the Cadet Woodworking Project Manual (U.S. Store | Canada Store), which contains several woodworking projects designed to help cadets complete the badge. Both of these items are currently on sale, too!

Where to Find Craft Project Ideas

Quest and Clarion

Hopefully, you already know this, but every issue of the Quest comes with a craft project idea and instructions. Soon, we’ll be making these Quest craft projects available online as well.

The same goes for our counselor publication, The Clarion. Remember that back issues of the Clarion (including the projects) are available on the counselor site for your reference. (You must be registered and logged in to access the counselor website). View Clarion back issues

Counselor Website

Speaking of the counselor website, it is also a good (and growing) source for project ideas. We’ve compiled several projects into one downloadable document, but we’re also working on posting individual projects online here. We’ve also linked to all of our craft project videos on YouTube for your convenience. The current list isn’t very long, but it’s growing all the time. See what’s there and check back often!

(NOTE – Cadet emblems and other clip art pieces are also available on the counselor site if you want to give a project a little Cadet decoration)

Elsewhere Online

If you’re still having trouble coming up with ideas for projects and crafts for your cadets, a quick search or two online will get you plenty more.

At the Corps Office, we constantly update resources to give counselors as many options as possible. We hope you find these resources helpful.
