Kingdom Kids Curriculum: Fresh Updates for Young Disciples
When it comes to planting seeds of faith in young hearts, few opportunities are as precious as those early years. That is why we are excited to share the newly updated Kingdom Kids Year One curriculum.
This refreshed edition keeps the strengths of the original curriculum but now includes new features that make it even easier for leaders to guide little ones toward Jesus with joy and simplicity.
Why Kingdom Kids Matters
At ages four and five, children are curious, eager, and forming habits that will shape their lives. Kingdom Kids helps lay the foundational blocks of faith during these formative years by teaching that:
- God loves them and can be known
- Jesus is worth following and imitating
- The Holy Spirit is with us to help and guide
Using a learning center approach, children rotate through engaging activities that combine Bible teaching with fun, hands-on experiences. From puppets and stories to games, crafts, and snacks, each lesson invites kids to discover not just who Jesus is, but also what it means to say: “I want to be like Jesus.”
Kingdom Kids also fits beautifully into a church family night program. While older siblings are at Cadets, 4- and 5-year-olds can enjoy Kingdom Kids, giving the entire family an opportunity to grow in faith at the same time.

Year One Curriculum (Updated)
- Includes 25 lessons in a three-ring binder with counselor helps and reproducible pages
- Features puppet introductions, learning center instructions, crafts, games, and snack ideas
- Sticker packet activities help reinforce what children learn in each lesson
Four main themes:
- God and how we can know Him
- Jesus and what He teaches us
- The Holy Spirit and how He helps us
- Holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter
Scruffy the Dog Puppet
An integral part of every Year One lesson is Scruffy, a hand-made dog puppet crafted from high-quality synthetic fur. Scruffy is lively, loveable, and keeps children’s attention as he helps leaders highlight the main points of each lesson. He also carries a special surprise: a heart-shaped pouch that holds the lesson’s memory verse. As the children discover the verse hidden in Scruffy’s heart, they learn the importance of keeping God’s Word hidden in their own hearts too.
Year One Stickers
Each lesson also comes with a strip of stickers that children place on reproducible activity sheets. This simple but effective activity reinforces the lesson and gives children a way to retell the story at home. Each child will need their own sticker packet.
What is new in Year One:
- Fresh full-color design
- More Bible stories
- Simplified layout for leaders
- Updated illustrations

Year Two Curriculum
Year Two builds on the foundation from Year One and helps children grow deeper in their understanding of Jesus. This set includes 25 lessons centered around four truths:
- Knowing I am God’s child
- Jesus is a Person; I can be like Him
- Jesus loves me
- What Jesus means to me
Grampy Gramps the Bear Puppet
Year Two introduces Grampy Gramps, a wise and grandfatherly bear puppet with his own pair of reading glasses. Made from high-quality synthetic fur, Grampy Gramps guides children through each lesson with warmth and wisdom. Like Scruffy, he has a heart-shaped pouch that holds the memory verse, giving children the joy of reaching in to “find” God’s Word.
Year Two Stickers
As in Year One, each lesson includes a strip of stickers. Children place them on reproducible sheets provided in the curriculum, reinforcing the story and helping them share what they have learned. Each child will need their own sticker packet.
Building a Foundation That Lasts
Kingdom Kids is more than a curriculum. It is an invitation to start children on a lifelong journey with Christ. The lessons do not just teach about Jesus. They help kids begin to live like Jesus in ways they can understand and practice.
If you are looking for a way to bring biblical truth, joy, and Christlike character into the lives of your youngest Cadets, the updated Year One curriculum for 4-year-olds and the Year Two curriculum for 5-year-olds are ready to help.
