Get Ready for Kamp Longview: Mountains of Blessing Await!
Every three years, cadets from across North America gather for something unforgettable: the Cadet International Camporee. In 2026, we will meet at Kamp Longview in Alberta, Canada, from July 15 to 22. The theme, “Mountains of Blessing” (based on Psalm 125:2), could not be more fitting for this experience of faith, fellowship, and adventure.
For boys in Cadets, Camporee is more than just a week of camping. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build friendships, deepen faith, and discover the joy of belonging to something bigger than themselves. As parents and counselors, you have a special role in helping cadets get excited and prepared for this adventure.

Why Camporee Matters for Cadets
- A Big-Picture View of Cadets: At their local club, boys see Cadets as their weekly group. At Camporee, they realize they are part of a worldwide brotherhood of boys who love God and enjoy the outdoors.
- Faith Practice in God’s Creation: Surrounded by the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, cadets will experience worship and devotions that remind them how the Lord truly surrounds His people “both now and forevermore.”
- Memories That Last a Lifetime: From building shelters and hiking trails to team challenges and campfires, every cadet leaves with stories he will be telling for years.

How Parents Can Build Excitement
- Talk About the Adventure: Share with your cadet what it will be like to camp in the foothills of the mountains, try new activities, and meet boys from all over.
- Count Down Together: Mark the registration date (January 5, 2026) and the departure date on your family calendar. Build anticipation with a visual countdown. (There’s a countdown on the Camporee website, btw)
- Practice Skills at Home: Pitch a tent in the backyard, cook a meal over a campfire, or go on a family hike to prepare for the experience.
- Watch the Promo Video(s): Videos for parents and cadets are available on the Camporee website.

How Counselors Can Build Excitement
- Tell Camporee Stories: Share your own past Camporee memories or invite alumni to tell cadets what made it so special.
- Poster: You should have received a promotional poster for Kamp Longview in your fall start-up packet. Please post it prominently.
- Plan Pre-Camp Adventures: Organize hikes, camping trips, or skills nights to prepare boys for the bigger adventure ahead.
- Show the Promo Video(s): Videos for parents and cadets are available on the Camporee website.
Let’s Climb This Mountain Together
The 2026 Camporee is going to be a highlight in your cadet’s life, spiritually, socially, and personally. Whether you are a parent encouraging your son to take this step of faith and adventure, or a counselor guiding your club toward the trip, now is the time to start building the excitement.
Registration opens January 5, 2026. Let’s make sure every cadet knows this is one event he will not want to miss!
