Standing Firm in Prayer for Cadets

In every season of Cadeting, one truth remains constant: we are called to stand firm. Not in our own strength, but in the Lord who sustains this ministry, shapes the hearts of boys, and equips those who serve them.

The Calvinist Cadet Corps stands on a foundation built by God, and that foundation is strengthened every time His people pray. That’s why we invite you to join us in using our Cadet Prayer Calendar—a simple but powerful way to stand firm in prayer for the people and ministries that make Cadeting possible.

Why Prayer Helps Us Stand Firm

Ministry brings both joy and challenge. Leaders carry responsibility, counselors invest deeply in boys’ lives, and volunteers give generously of their time and talents. Prayer anchors all of this work in God’s faithfulness.

When we pray together, we stand firm against discouragement, distraction, and fatigue. We acknowledge that Cadeting is not sustained by human effort alone, but by the grace of God working through His people.

Standing Firm With Those Who Serve

The prayer calendar invites you to lift up the many individuals who serve faithfully behind the scenes and on the front lines of ministry, including:

  • Corps leadership and staff, balancing ministry, work, and family while guiding the organization
  • Writers, designers, and creatives, who develop Christ-centered resources that equip boys and counselors
  • Training coordinators and volunteers, who help counselors grow in confidence and skill
  • Head counselors and counselors, who stand firm week after week as mentors and role models for boys
  • New and potential counselors, as they discern God’s call to serve in this ministry
  • Individual Cadets, that each boy would grow in faith and learn what it means to stand firm in Christ

The calendar also reminds us to pray for the wives and families of counselors, whose sacrifices and support make this ministry possible.

Standing Firm Across the World

Cadeting is a global ministry, and prayer unites us across distances and cultures. As you follow the prayer calendar, you’ll be invited to stand firm alongside:

  • Cadet clubs in Kenya, where the ministry has grown to more than 200 clubs
  • Cadet ministries in Australia and New Zealand, faithfully serving despite smaller numbers
  • Independent clubs in isolated areas, often ministering with limited support
  • International donors and partners, whose generosity helps sustain and expand the work

Together, we stand firm as one Cadet family, trusting God to work powerfully in every place Cadeting exists.

Standing Firm for the Future

The prayer calendar also directs our prayers toward what lies ahead. You’ll find opportunities to pray for:

  • The International Camporee, including preparations for Kamp Longview in Alberta in 2026
  • Visioning and executive leadership, seeking wisdom, unity, and discernment
  • Financial provision, trusting God to supply all that is needed
  • Congressmen and regional leaders, as they guide and support local clubs

And woven throughout the calendar is a call to personal spiritual growth. If we are to stand firm as a ministry, we must first stand firm in our own walk with the Lord.
