A Great Day on the Course at the 2026 Cadet Golf Outing

On Monday, May 11, supporters and friends of the Calvinist Cadet Corps gathered at Pilgrim’s Run Golf Course for the 2026 Cadet Golf Outing. With brisk temperatures, bright sunshine, and plenty of fellowship, the day provided a wonderful opportunity to enjoy God’s creation while supporting the ministry of Cadets.

This year’s outing brought together approximately 55 golfers across 14 teams for a fun and encouraging day on the course. Golfers of all skill levels came ready to compete, connect, and support the work of helping boys grow more Christlike in all areas of life.

Before the shotgun start, Executive Director Steve Bootsma gathered participants for a time of prayer. He thanked God for the opportunity to enjoy fellowship together and asked for safety, encouragement, and a spirit of gratitude throughout the day. It was a meaningful reminder that events like these are about more than golf. They are another way the Cadet community comes together to support the ministry and invest in the lives of boys.

The weather may have been a little chilly at times, but the sunshine and beautiful conditions at Pilgrim’s Run made for an enjoyable day from start to finish. Laughter echoed across the fairways as teams competed in a variety of contests throughout the outing.

Golfers had the opportunity to test their skills in several special competitions, including:

  • Longest Drive
  • Longest Putt Made
  • Three Closest-to-the-Pin contests

After the final putts dropped, participants gathered for lunch and an awards presentation. Winners from the day’s contests were recognized, and golfers enjoyed time visiting and sharing stories from their rounds.

Events like the Cadet Golf Outing would not be possible without the support of many faithful volunteers. From planning and organizing to registration, setup, and hospitality, many individuals helped make the day run smoothly. Their willingness to serve is a blessing to the Cadet ministry and to everyone who participated.

We are also thankful for the golfers and supporters who continue to invest in the mission of the Calvinist Cadet Corps. Their participation helps support the ongoing work of mentoring boys and encouraging them to live lives rooted in Christ.

This year’s outing also served as a fitting reflection of our current Cadet theme, “Stand Firm.” Whether on the golf course or in everyday life, we are reminded of the importance of standing firm in faith, encouraging one another, and building lasting Christian friendships along the way.

Thank you again to everyone who participated in the 2026 Cadet Golf Outing. We are grateful for your support and look forward to another great outing next year.
