Start a Club: 5 Reasons Your Church Needs Cadets
In a world that’s constantly shifting, boys need a firm foundation. They need godly role models, practical life skills, and a place where faith is more than just a Sunday thing. That’s where Cadets comes in.
The Calvinist Cadet Corps is a Christ-centered mentoring ministry for boys in grades 2 through 8. Our mission is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life – devotional, mental, physical, and social – under the guidance of committed Christian men.
Here are five reasons your church should consider starting a Cadet club:
1. Boys Need Godly Mentors
Boys thrive when they’re surrounded by men who walk with Christ. Cadet counselors don’t just teach – they lead by example. Week by week, they build trust, offer guidance, and model what it means to live a life devoted to Christ.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17
2. Discipleship Happens Outside the Classroom
Cadets learn by doing – camping, building, creating, serving. Bible lessons are paired with hands-on activities, making faith tangible. Whether it’s learning how to build a campfire or how to serve a neighbor, boys discover that their faith matters in real life.
3. Churches Build Stronger Communities
When men, boys, and families are drawn together through Cadets, the whole church benefits. Clubs foster intergenerational relationships, deepen engagement, and offer opportunities for outreach and service. A Cadet club is more than a boys’ group – it’s a ministry that strengthens your entire congregation.
4. Cadets Offers Proven, Flexible Curriculum
With over 70 years of experience, Cadets provides a trusted framework for mentoring boys. Clubs can choose from a wide range of Bible lessons, merit badges, and outdoor adventures – customizable to fit your church’s context and the boys you serve.
5. It’s Easier Than You Think to Get Started
Starting a club might sound daunting, but we’re here to walk you through every step – from recruiting counselors to launching your first meeting. Our resources, training, and support make it easy for any church to begin this powerful ministry.
