Surrounded by God’s Blessings: Looking Back on Kamp Longview

For one unforgettable week, the mountains of Alberta became more than a beautiful backdrop. They became a place where God reminded us of His faithfulness, His presence, and His promises.

Kamp Longview 2026 has come to an end, but the memories, friendships, and lessons learned will continue to shape the lives of Cadets and Counselors for years to come.

From July 15-22, hundreds of boys and leaders gathered from across North America to experience adventure, worship, fellowship, and growth together. Whether hiking mountain trails, paddling across the water, practicing outdoor skills, serving others, or sharing meals around camp, every activity pointed us back to our theme:

“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.”
Psalm 125:2 (NIV)

Throughout the week, we were constantly reminded that God’s blessings are found not only in breathtaking views, but in everyday moments of faithfulness.

Growing Together

One of the greatest blessings of Camporee has always been the opportunity to build relationships.

Cadets spent the week learning alongside boys from different clubs, provinces, and states. They encouraged one another through challenges, laughed together around camp, and discovered that the family of God stretches far beyond their own hometowns.

Counselors invested countless hours mentoring, teaching, encouraging, and setting Christ-centered examples. Their willingness to serve helped create an environment where boys could grow in confidence, character, and faith.

These relationships are often what Cadets remember long after the tents have been packed away.

Adventure with Purpose

Kamp Longview offered plenty of adventure, but every activity had a greater purpose.

Outdoor skills were put into practice, teamwork was tested, and perseverance was rewarded. Whether completing a difficult hike, working together on a challenge, or serving others, Cadets learned lessons that reach far beyond camp.

Each experience reminded us that God often uses challenges to strengthen us and blessings to draw us closer to Him.

Worship in God’s Creation

Standing among the mountains made Psalm 125:2 come alive in a unique way.

Every sunrise, every trail, and every gathering reminded us that the God who created these magnificent peaks is the same God who surrounds His people every day. Worshiping together in such a beautiful setting gave many of us a renewed appreciation for God’s power, His creativity, and His constant care.

Even after returning home, that promise remains unchanged. God’s presence isn’t limited to the mountains. He surrounds us wherever He leads us.

Thank You

An event like Kamp Longview happens because of countless people who faithfully give their time, talents, and resources.

Thank you to our Camporee planning team, staff, volunteers, speakers, photographers, cooks, medical personnel, activity leaders, and every Counselor who invested in the boys entrusted to their care.

Thank you to the churches, families, and supporters who prayed, donated, and encouraged us throughout the journey. Your partnership made this week possible.

Most of all, thank you to the Cadets who came ready to learn, serve, and grow. Watching you encourage one another, face new challenges, and pursue Christ was a joy.

The Journey Continues

While Kamp Longview has ended, its impact is only beginning.

The memories made this week will become stories shared for years. The friendships formed will continue across clubs and countries. The lessons learned around campfires, on trails, and during worship will continue to shape hearts as Cadets return to their churches, families, and communities.

As we begin a new Cadet season with the theme “Mountains of Blessings,” we pray that everyone who attended Kamp Longview will remember what God taught them in the mountains and carry those lessons into everyday life.

May we all continue to live with the confidence that just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds His people now and forevermore.

Thank you for being part of Kamp Longview. We praise God for all He accomplished, and we look forward with anticipation to the ways He will continue His work in the lives of Cadets and Counselors across North America.

Until we gather again for the Cadet International Camporee in 2029, may God continue to surround you with His blessings.
