Mountains of Blessings: Our 2026-2027 Theme
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.
— Psalm 125:2
There is something inspiring about mountains.
They rise above the landscape, standing firm through storms, seasons, and centuries. They remind us of God’s power, His faithfulness, and His unchanging presence. For generations, people have looked to the mountains and been reminded that God is greater than any challenge they face.
That is why we are excited to introduce the Calvinist Cadet Corps’ 2026–2027 theme:
Mountains of Blessings
Based on Psalm 125:2, this year’s theme points boys and leaders alike to the incredible truth that God surrounds His people with His love, protection, and care.
Throughout Scripture, mountains often serve as places where God’s presence is revealed. From Mount Sinai to Mount Zion, from Elijah’s encounter with God to Jesus’ teaching on the mountainside, God repeatedly used these high places to remind His people of His power and promises.
Yet Psalm 125 reminds us of something even more amazing than the mountains themselves: the Lord surrounds His people just as the mountains surround Jerusalem.
What a blessing for boys growing up in today’s world.
Living for Jesus Amid God’s Blessings
Every day, boys are growing and learning what it means to follow Jesus in a changing world. They face new opportunities, new responsibilities, and new challenges as they develop into young men.
The Cadet ministry exists to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life. Through Bible study, outdoor adventures, service projects, skill-building activities, and relationships with godly men, boys learn what it means to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
This year’s theme reminds us that we do not walk through life alone. God surrounds His people with His faithful presence and countless blessings. Whether we experience mountaintop joys or valley struggles, the Lord remains near.
As we recognize His blessings, we are called to respond with gratitude, faith, and obedience—living for Jesus each day.
An Adventure Worth Taking
The imagery of this year’s theme captures the spirit of the Cadet program.
Picture a boy exploring God’s creation. Hiking a trail. Setting up camp. Learning new skills. Recording memories. Discovering the beauty of the outdoors while growing in his understanding of God’s Word.
These experiences do more than create memories. They help shape character, build confidence, and point boys toward the Creator who made the mountains, forests, rivers, and skies.
As Cadets, we want boys to see God’s blessings all around them – in creation, in friendships, in family, in church, and most importantly, in the saving grace found through Jesus Christ.
Looking Ahead
Throughout the coming season, counselors and clubs will explore what it means to be surrounded by God’s blessings and sustained by His faithfulness. Together, we’ll discover how God works through His Word, His creation, His people, and His promises to guide us throughout life’s journey.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people.
That promise remains true today.
May the 2026-2027 Cadet season inspire boys, counselors, churches, and families to recognize God’s blessings, trust His care, and joyfully Live for Jesus wherever He leads.
Welcome to a new season.
